Lower School Admissions

 

Applications are available when a parent attends a prospective parent tour of the school. Group tours are scheduled from late September through early December. Parents should call the school to arrange a visit. The application deadline is December 3, 2010.

Upon receipt of an application, the Director of Admissions will call to arrange a meeting between the parents and an administrator. Applicants for Grade 1 will be scheduled for a play visit. Applicants for grades 2-5 will be scheduled for a classroom visit based on potential openings in the grade.

All applicants to the lower school will require the results of testing by the Educational Records Bureau (ERB). To schedule a test date, contact the ERB office at (212) 672-9800 or visit their website.

School reports from current schools are required to complete the application. The reports should be submitted to Heschel by January 15, 2011.

Notification of acceptance complies with the guidelines established by the Independent Schools Admissions Association of Greater New York (ISAAGNY). Grade 1 notification will be mailed on Friday, February 11, 2011.  Grades 2-5 notifications will be mailed on Tuesday, February 8, 2011.
