When the Abraham Joshua Heschel School was founded in 1983, a new model of Jewish day school was created. Named after one of the great Jewish leaders, teachers, and activists of the twentieth century, The Heschel School opened with a commitment to creating a pluralistic Jewish community dedicated to the values that characterized Rabbi Heschel’s life: intellectual exploration, respect, integrity, love of the Jewish people and tradition, and a commitment to social justice.

High School Greenhouse, Garden, and Aquaponics Club Offer Some Aid To Chabbad House

Mar 28 2019

After Sukkot, the High School Greenhouse, Garden, and Aquaponics Club received an e-mail from the rabbi of a Chabbad House in South Carolina asking for advice about growing myrtle bushes. The club shared some advice and also offered to send one of the myrtle plants that they would grow to South Carolina. They are now ready to send these plants and are excited to have the chance to use their skills and interest in horticulture to help other communities.
