High School: Grades 9-12 Admissions Checklist:

As we open our doors in September, we have several opportunities for you to explore The Heschel School!  As a first step, we encourage you to sign up HERE for a Zoom Open House.  In addition, a virtual tour will become available on our website later this Fall.  In the interim, you may explore our website for a glimpse into student life.   For additional questions, please email us at Iris.klein@heschel.org.

Preliminary Online Application

Heschel uses the services of Ravenna to facilitate our online application.

Student and Parent Zoom Interview

Once you submit your Preliminary Application you will be able to sign up for Parent and Student interviews on Ravenna.

Student Essay

Choose one of the five ISAAGNY topics listed. Essay should be no longer than 500 words.

Teacher Recommendations

English, Math, and Jewish Studies recommendations forms (available online) are required as part of the application and must be received by January 15, 2021.

School Reports

School reports from current schools are required to complete the application. An official transcript should be sent directly from the applicant’s school by January 15, 2021.

Test Scores

For entrance in Fall 2021 Heschel will not be requiring a current standardized admissions test (ISEE, SSAT, or CAT/E) as part of the application process. Applicants are instead requested to submit the results of their most recent standardized test administered by their current school e.g., ERB, Terra Nova, or ELA.

Financial Aid (if applicable)

Please visit our financial aid page for information about applying for aid. Deadline to complete your financial aid application is December 15, 2020.

Notification Date:

9-12 Grades: Thursday, February 26, 2021

Notification of acceptance complies with the guidelines established by the Independent Schools Admissions Association of Greater New York (ISAAGNY).

Students must be fully immunized based on the New York State Requirements.
