High School: Grades 9-12 Admissions Checklist:

As we open our doors in September, we have several opportunities for you to explore The Heschel School!  

Join us on Zoom for Heschel 101: An Introductory Information Session 

  • Tuesday, October 12 at 6:30PM or 
  • Thursday, October 28 at 6:30PM

Then, please join us in person for An Evening at Heschel High School to experience the magic of our classrooms, meet members of our faculty and student body, and learn about the experiences and opportunities that make Heschel High School so special.

*RSVP required.  Proof of vaccination required at the door for door for all students and parents attending our in-person event.  If it is possible for your family, please have one parent attend with each prospective student.

Preliminary Online Application

Heschel uses the services of Ravenna to facilitate our online application.

Student and Parent Interview

Once you submit your Preliminary Application you will be able to sign up for Parent and Student interviews on Ravenna.

Student Essay

Choose one of the five ISAAGNY topics listed. Essay should be no longer than 500 words.

Teacher Recommendations

English, Math, and Jewish Studies recommendations forms (available online) are required as part of the application and must be received by January 14, 2022.

School Reports

School reports from current schools are required to complete the application. An official transcript should be sent directly from the applicant’s school by January 14, 2022.

Test Scores

For entrance in Fall 2022 Heschel will not be requiring a current standardized admissions test (ISEE, SSAT, or CAT/E) as part of the application process. Applicants are instead requested to submit the results of their most recent standardized test administered by their current school e.g., ERB, Terra Nova, or ELA.

Please visit our financial aid page for information about applying for aid. Deadline to complete your financial aid application is December 15, 2021.

Notification Date:

Grades 9-12: February 18, 2022 (Reply by March 11, 2022)

Notification of acceptance complies with the guidelines established by the Independent Schools Admissions Association of Greater New York (ISAAGNY).

Students must be fully immunized based on the New York State Requirements.
