When the Abraham Joshua Heschel School was founded in 1983, a new model of Jewish day school was created. Named after one of the great Jewish leaders, teachers, and activists of the twentieth century, The Heschel School opened with a commitment to creating a pluralistic Jewish community dedicated to the values that characterized Rabbi Heschel’s life: intellectual exploration, respect, integrity, love of the Jewish people and tradition, and a commitment to social justice.

The PA is comprised of all parents in the school, including Early Childhood, Lower School, Middle School, and High School. Covid-19 Pool Testing

We will be testing our entire community using a pooled, saliva-test system. You (if you are faculty or staff) or your child (if you are a parent) will receive the test at school, complete it at home, and return it the next morning.

Please go to Magnus and complete the form giving consent for this testing.

Parents: You can log in to Magnus with your My BackPack username and password. If you forgot your username and/or password, please visit My BackPack, click on “I Forgot My User Name/Password,” and follow the directions.
Faculty/Staff: You can log in to Magnus with the username and password you set up. If you forgot your username and/or password, please click here to recover your username and/or reset your password.

Our testing schedule is as follows:

Division	Tests Distributed (Sent Home with Students)	Test Returned (At Morning Arrival)
Middle School, Heschel Fellows, and staff not affiliated with a division	Monday	Tuesday
Early Childhood and Lower School	Tuesday	Wednesday
High School	Wednesday	Thursday

Please follow these instructions to complete the test.

Note that each vial is labeled with an individual bar code. It is critical that you submit the test that has been coded specifically to you.

As this is screening testing, if someone tests positive we will require the person to get an additional PCR Covid-19 test to confirm the diagnosis.
