Kristallnacht Commemoration 2016

On November 9th, the Heschel community commemorated Kristallnacht with a moving presentation by Dina Wizmur (Heschel parent), Judith Wizmur (Dina's mother), and Holocaust survivor, Terry Herskovits, (Dina's grandmother).

The audience heard Mrs. Herskovits' amazing story of survival as a teenager in Budapest under Nazi regime, and her life in Communist Hungary after the war. Though a series of miracles, Mrs. Herskovits survived and was able to immigrate to the United States.

Mrs. Herkovits is a true role model of resilience and the audience was moved by her dignity and courage, and by the very important life lessons she imparted.
