Early Childhood Explores Shavuot

Early Childhood students explored the concepts of Shavuot and enjoyed its celebratory customs. The children had discussions about the Ten Commandments and the need for rules, addressing the differences between rules at school and rules at home. Some classes generated ideas for additional commandments focusing on Tikkun Olam (Repairing the World). They learned the different names for Shavuot and their meanings: Chag Ha'Shavuot (The Celebration of the Weeks), Z'man Matan Torateinu (The Time of the Giving of the Torah), Chag Hakatzir (The Festival of Harvest)and Yom HaBikkurim (The Day of the First Fruits).
