Heschel Community Gathers for "Israel in this Moment"
The Heschel community gathered for an opportunity to be together, to learn, and to sing. The program, titled "Israel in this Moment", began with prayers for the state of Israel, the safe release of the hostages, and peace. Head of School Ariela Dubler moderated a discussion between Heschel parents Keren Yarhi-Milo and Dan Senor about how Israel arrived at this moment, the current state of affairs in the Middle East, and the rise of anti-semitism across the globe. The conversation closed with hopeful remarks about the nation and people of Israel, and then the Heschel community brought their voices together for a shira b'tzibur (communal singing) to sing songs for Israel.
